Metal Stair for Various Applications
Steel stair systems offer a powerful combination of solutions while having an impressive lifespan — making them a top choice for commercial, industrial, and even residential projects. Because steel is exceptionally strong, staircases built from this metal can reliably support heavy loads, high traffic, and frequent use without deforming or wearing out quickly.
Besides strength, metal stairs are prized for being low-maintenance and weather-resistant. Unlike wood or concrete, they resist rot, decay, and many environmental stresses — and when treated with protective coatings (like powder coating or galvanization), they hold up well even in humid environments like Haysville or Wichita.

Finally, steel stair systems are highly adaptable in design and application — from simple straight-flight stairs to spiral stairs, open-grate treads, or custom configurations. That flexibility allows them to function as efficient egress routes, mezzanine access stairs, fire routes, apartment thruways, or architectural statement pieces — all while meeting safety and building-code standards. Not all stair systems are the same, and selecting the right type depends on the layout and usage needs of your facility. We can help with that process by offering the most efficient layout for your facility and objectives.
If you're in need of a single flight of metal stairs, or you need many sets of staircases for a large replacement project, we can fulfill those needs, all with exceptional service and at a fair price. Whether you're in Haysville, Andover, or another part of south-central Kansas, give us a ring to understand if we can help as your local welding partner.

Get to Know Haysville, Kansas
Haysville is one of the oldest communities in the Wichita metro, known for its farming roots and its historic nickname, the “Peach Capital of Kansas.” Today, it serves as a family-focused suburb closely connected to Wichita’s aviation and manufacturing economy and to nearby cities like Derby and Mulvane.
Haysville’s Early Roots and Historic Development
Founded in the late 1800s, Haysville grew around fertile farmland and the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway, which linked the city to Wichita and regional markets. Locals still call the corridor the “Rock Island Line,” a name that remains part of the community’s identity.
While agriculture and rail shaped its early years, modern Haysville reflects the growth of the broader Wichita aerospace industry. The city is also remembered for its resilience after the April 1999 F4 tornado, which destroyed much of the historic district. Residents rebuilt with intention, preserving defining landmarks and reinforcing the close-knit character the town is known for.
Notable Landmarks in Haysville
Vickers Petroleum Service Station (Batwing Station)
Haysville’s most recognizable landmark, the Vickers Batwing Station, is the last remaining example of the company’s futuristic hyperbolic-paraboloid roof design. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it was designed by architect John M. Hickman, an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright and designer of the iconic Wichita’s Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center located downtown.
The station survived the 1999 tornado even as surrounding buildings fell, making it a symbol of the town’s endurance. Today, it houses the Haysville Economic Development Office and remains a popular stop for classic-car fans and architecture enthusiasts.
Angel of Hope Memorial Site
Located in Dorner Park, the Angel of Hope Memorial is the only one of its kind in Kansas. Inspired by The Christmas Box, it features a five-foot angel statue and butterfly wings engraved with the names of children remembered by their families.
Each December 6, Haysville holds the Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony here. The memorial is open daily during standard park hours and remains a peaceful place for year-round reflection.
